Nothing Headphone (1)

A minimal, distinctive design crafted to stand out and built to last. Every detail of Headphone (1), from the choice of materials to the integration of tactile controls, was thoughtfully considered to create a striking aesthetic that reflects our transparent, bold identity.

Strength in every detail

Formed aluminium strengthens key structural parts without adding unnecessary weight, while precision-moulded plastics bring flexibility and balance. A transparent casing wraps each earcup, revealing the engineering within. At the core, a nickel-plated diaphragm reinforces the driver for improved durability and clarity, keeping sound consistent across every track.

Balanced comfort

Headphone (1) is designed with a focus on ergonomic fit and softness. The PU ear cushions provide a gentle touch that resists oils and makeup, while the optimised ear cup depth ensures a secure, balanced fit. This design minimises pressure and maximises comfort for all head shapes.

Built to last

Headphone (1) is tested against a full set of hardware reliability standards to ensure it performs under pressure. That includes over 50 tests covering headband extension, drop impact, sweat, twist, and temperature resistance. Each component is carefully engineered and tested for strength to ensure consistent reliability with every use.

Rigorous Tuning & Testing

The driver, tuning and acoustic package of Headphone (1) undergo rigorous auditing and fine-tuning in KEF’s specialised listening rooms to recreate signature sonic experiences. Every element, from frequency response to soundstage, is carefully engineered using acoustic modelling software to perform consistently across different music genres and listening modes. Each round of testing ensures clarity, richness and emotional depth in every frequency band. The process is repeated across multiple scenarios, including Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode and Spatial Audio, to guarantee balanced and precise sound output in any environment.

High-fidelity sound

A scroll-stopping, statement-making design with balanced, high-fidelity sound. Natural vocals and rich detail that voice your identity so you can live boldly, every day.

Clear and rich

Headphone (1) is engineered for efficient sound delivery and vivid bass thanks to the custom-made 40 mm speaker and high-linearity suspension system with PU surround. The PU surround moves more effectively than traditional materials like PET, creating deeper, richer tones in the low frequencies. Its 8.9 mm width exceeds industry norms, minimising distortion and keeping the driver stable to cast precise vibrations. For clear vocals, vibrant mids and an overall enveloping sound.

Full spectrum

The diaphragm, rim and dome of the speaker are all finished with a nickel-plated coating. This helps deliver clearer high-frequency sounds while maintaining rich, powerful lows, so you can enjoy more layers of sound. The diaphragm’s added rigidity helps minimise distortion, revealing finer audio textures across every track.

Pure, unfiltered listening

The uniform dome texture helps ensure clear, natural sound quality. That means less distortion and cleaner output, even at high volumes.

Escape the noise

Pure sound, without the commotion. Advanced hybrid Active Noise Cancellation uses dual feedforward and feedback microphones to reduce noise effectively. It checks your surroundings every 600 ms and adapts the cancellation level in real time. Wearing detection runs every 1875 ms to keep playback seamless and intuitive.

Always out there

Stay aware without pressing pause. Transparency Mode lets in the sounds around you, so you can stay present while staying in your zone. One tap keeps you connected to both your music and your surroundings.

Lower lows

Adaptive bass enhancement adjusts automatically to deepen the lows – delivering dynamic and immersive listening, no matter the music genre.

Spatial Audio

The spatialiser in Headphone (1) transforms any stereo audio source into a fully immersive experience, expanding the soundstage with precision and depth. Whether you are watching a film, playing a game or streaming music, it creates a natural, multi-dimensional soundscape that pulls you deeper into every moment.

Move with your sound

With in-built head tracking, the soundstage moves with you, creating a 360° audio field that stays centred as you turn. Perfect for films, gaming, and live recordings.
