SMALLRIG Basic Cage for the DJI Osmo Action 6
The SMALLRIG Basic 5886 cage is designed specifically for the DJI Osmo Action 6, providing additional impact protection without restricting access to buttons, ports, or the battery compartment. The nylon construction weighs only about 27 g (± 5 g), so it remains lightweight and does not significantly increase the size of the setup when shooting handheld or on the move. The open design of the bottom section allows you to use the camera’s built-in magnetic mount, and the side quick-release interface makes it easy to switch between portrait and landscape recording modes.
More expansion options for your setup
The cage is equipped with two cold shoe mounts that allow you to attach additional accessories, such as a microphone or a small LED light. This lets you conveniently expand your filming setup and adapt it to various shooting scenarios without needing large additional mounts. The design is also compatible with DJI’s bidirectional quick-release adapter and compatible SmallRig adapters, which streamlines the transition between horizontal and vertical configurations.
Convenient Operation During Recording
Access to the battery compartment remains possible without removing the cage, so battery replacement is quick and doesn’t require disassembling the entire setup. There is also a slot on the side for a wrist strap, which provides additional protection against accidentally dropping the camera while shooting handheld or in dynamic conditions. The case’s compact dimensions help maintain the DJI Osmo Action 6’s portable design while expanding mounting options and providing additional protection for the device.
